What is DSIP?

(delta sleep-inducing peptide)

DSIP is a peptide discovered in the cerebrospinal fluid of sleeping animals, linked to deep sleep regulation. It is studied off-label for sleep quality and stress. The evidence in animals is solid; human clinical trials are few. It is compounded as a subcutaneous injection, typically 500 mcg to 2 mg, taken at bedtime 5 nights per week.

Preclinical

strong animal evidence; limited human clinical data

DSIP is prescribed off-label at your physician's discretion based on preclinical research and clinical experience. Sleep and stress improvement take 2-4 weeks to notice.

Is it right for you?

  • Who it's for

Adults who have trouble falling asleep and have already tried good sleep habits.

  • What sets it apart

A nine-amino-acid peptide studied for sleep since the 1970s, with mixed results.

  • Worth knowing before you start

Inject it at bedtime and do not drive after. Do not combine it with sleeping pills or alcohol.

What to expect

  • Patience required

early-stage therapies take time; effects build over weeks

  • Improved sleep or mood

tracking with a journal helps you see the changes

How neuro peptides work

  1. Day 1

A US-licensed physician reviews your sleep, mood, or cognitive goals, health history, and current medications. Discusses how these early-stage peptides work and the evidence gaps.

    1
  2. Week 1

Start with a subcutaneous injection or intranasal spray at bedtime (or as directed). Most people find the routine comfortable within days.

    2
  3. Weeks 2–4

Sleep quality, mood, or focus may begin to shift. Some notice changes within days; others take 3–4 weeks. Keep a sleep or mood journal.

    3
  4. Month 2

Your physician checks in, reviews your journal, and adjusts dose if needed. Discuss any changes in sleep, mood, energy, or focus.

    4
  5. Beyond

Neuro peptides work best with consistent use. Your physician monitors your response every 4–6 weeks and adjusts as your needs change.

The science of neuro peptides

In animal models, DSIP increases deep (slow-wave) sleep and dampens stress hormone (cortisol) response. It does not appear in urine the next day, suggesting it acts in the CNS and is cleared quickly.

Human clinical trials are limited and older. Your physician explains this gap and follows how you sleep and feel at check-ins. A sleep diary helps track changes.

Important safety information and common side effects

Neuro peptides are prescribed off-label based on preclinical and early clinical evidence. Common mild effects include injection-site reactions, headache, or temporary sleep changes in the first week. DSIP, Semax, and Selank are not prescribed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with active psychiatric medication without careful discussion—some combinations require monitoring or dose adjustment. Tell your physician about every medication, supplement, and any history of seizures or psychosis. Stop and seek care for severe headache, agitation, mood changes that interfere with daily life, or signs of allergic reaction.

Frequently asked questions

How do I use DSIP?

Injected under the skin, 5 days a week, at bedtime. The starting prescription is 20 units (0.2 mg) each time. Your physician sets your own dose and it is printed on your label.

How much arrives in each shipment?

1 vial at the starting strength, shipped to your door from a licensed US pharmacy.

How long until I notice better sleep?

Most people report changes in sleep quality within 2-4 weeks of nightly use. Some notice the effect within days; others take 4-6 weeks. Keep a sleep log to track changes in depth, morning alertness, and how long it takes to fall asleep.

Why are these off-label?

Off-label means not FDA-approved for these uses, but prescribed by physicians based on preclinical research and clinical experience. It is common in medical practice, especially for emerging therapies. Your physician explains what is known and what remains uncertain.

Can I combine these with other medications?

Tell your physician about every medication, especially psychiatric drugs (SSRIs, antipsychotics), stimulants, or sleep aids. Some combinations need careful timing, dose adjustment, or extra monitoring. Do not start or stop any other medications without discussing with your physician.

What if I don't notice a change?

Some people respond quickly; others take 4–8 weeks. Keep a detailed sleep or mood journal to spot subtle changes. If no response after 6–8 weeks, your physician may adjust the dose, try a different peptide, or explore other options.

Are these safe long-term?

Long-term safety data are limited because human use is recent. Your physician monitors you regularly and reassesses the plan every 3–6 months. If any concerning symptoms arise, stop immediately and report them.
