What is gonadorelin?

(go-NAD-o-REL-in)

Gonadorelin is a synthetic copy of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), the signal the hypothalamus sends to the pituitary in pulses to release LH and FSH, the hormones that tell the testes to make testosterone and sperm. Testosterone therapy switches that signal off, so the testes go quiet and shrink. Given in pulses, gonadorelin keeps the signal alive, which is why it is prescribed alongside TRT and in some fertility protocols.

LH + FSH

Gonadorelin's evidence is strongest for pulsatile use in hypogonadotropic hypogonadism; its use alongside TRT is off-label at your physician's discretion.

How gonadorelin works

  1. Day 1

A US-licensed physician reviews your testosterone plan, fertility goals, history and labs, and sets the dose and schedule. The kit includes everything you need.

  2. Week 1

A small subcutaneous injection, typically a few times a week, in pulses that mimic the brain's own GnRH rhythm.

  3. Month 1–2

LH and FSH signaling stays active. Men on TRT report the testes staying fuller; your physician checks labs as needed.

  4. Month 3

Your physician reviews testosterone, estradiol and, when fertility is the goal, semen parameters, and adjusts the plan.

  5. Beyond

Gonadorelin runs alongside your testosterone plan for as long as preserving your own production matters to you.

What the research says

The science of gonadorelin

In men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, pulsatile gonadorelin induced sperm production earlier than cyclical gonadotropin therapy, confirming it can restart the testes when the brain's signal is missing.

Alongside testosterone therapy, gonadorelin is used to keep LH and FSH signaling alive; that use rests on physiology and clinical experience rather than large trials. Your physician explains the difference.
