Do not take PDE5 inhibitors with nitrates in any form (risk of a severe, potentially fatal drop in blood pressure). Use caution with alpha-blockers. Tell your physician about every medicine you take.
Benefits for the bedroom and beyond.
PDE5 inhibitors increase blood flow to the penis when you are aroused, so erections come more easily and last.
Based on the established pharmacology and labels of the drug class. Individual results vary.

Reliable erections
In clinical trials, sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil each improved erections compared with placebo.

Ready when you are
As-needed doses are taken 30 to 60 minutes before sex; tadalafil can work for up to 36 hours.

A daily option
Low-dose daily tadalafil keeps you ready without planning, and is also approved for urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate.

Many ways to take it
Swallow a tablet, or let a troche or dissolving tablet melt under the tongue.
The science
What are sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil?

What are they?
Prescription PDE5 inhibitors, the first-line medicines for erectile dysfunction. Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra, tadalafil in Cialis and vardenafil in Levitra; ours are generic or compounded versions.
How do PDE5 inhibitors work?
When you are aroused, the body releases nitric oxide, which raises cGMP and relaxes the blood vessels of the penis. PDE5 breaks cGMP down; blocking it keeps those vessels relaxed so more blood flows in. They do not cause an erection without arousal.
Are they right for me?
Most men with erectile dysfunction can take them. They are not for men who take nitrates or certain heart medicines, or who have been told sex is unsafe for their heart. A physician reviews your health before prescribing.
Every treatment. Every dose. Every goal.
Vardenafil can prolong the QT interval. Do not use vardenafil if you take a Class IA (e.g., quinidine, procainamide) or Class III (e.g., amiodarone, sotalol) antiarrhythmic, or if you have a congenital QT prolongation. Tell your physician before taking it.
Side effects
Important safety information
PDE5 inhibitors are generally well tolerated, and side effects often ease with use. Never take them with nitrates or riociguat; the combination can drop blood pressure dangerously. Tell your physician about all your medicines.
Common side effects:
- Headache, flushing, stuffy nose, indigestion, dizziness, back pain and muscle aches.
- Sildenafil: brief blurred or blue-tinted vision.
Rare but serious side effects may include:
- An erection lasting more than 4 hours (priapism): get medical help right away.
- Sudden loss of vision or hearing; stop and seek care.
- Severe low blood pressure with contraindicated medicines, or serious allergic reactions.
- Vardenafil: QT prolongation; tell your physician about heart rhythm problems.

Your sexual health questions answered
Contact supportWhich one is right for me?
Sildenafil works for about 4 to 6 hours; vardenafil is similar; tadalafil can last up to 36 hours and also comes as a low daily dose. Your physician recommends one based on your health, your other medicines and how you want to take it.
Daily or as needed?
As-needed doses are taken before sex. Daily low-dose tadalafil keeps a steady level so you don't have to plan. Your physician helps you choose.
How fast does it work?
Most as-needed doses are taken 30 to 60 minutes before sex; troches and dissolving tablets are taken 20 to 30 minutes before. Sexual stimulation is still needed.
What are the common side effects?
Headache, flushing, stuffy nose, indigestion and back or muscle aches are the most common, and usually mild. Seek help right away for an erection lasting more than 4 hours or a sudden change in vision or hearing.
Can I take it with my other medicines?
Never with nitrates or riociguat. Alpha-blockers and some other medicines need care. List everything you take in your evaluation so your physician can check.
How is it billed?
Monthly, every 3 months or every 6 months; longer plans cost less per month. Shipping is free and you can pause or cancel anytime.
