What is Lipo-B?

(methionine, inositol, choline and B12)

Lipotropic means fat-moving: methionine, inositol and choline are nutrients the liver uses to package and export fat rather than store it. Choline in particular is essential for building the particles that carry fat out of the liver. B12 is added for energy metabolism. Lipo-B is used as a supporting injection alongside a diet, movement or GLP-1 plan, not as a weight-loss drug on its own.

nutrients in one weekly injection: methionine, inositol, choline and B12

Lipotropic injections have little direct trial evidence for weight loss; they support liver fat metabolism and correct low B12. Your physician places them inside a real plan.

How it works,
week by week.

  1. Day 1

A US-licensed physician reviews your symptoms, history and, when needed, your B12 level, and chooses the injection and schedule. The kit includes everything you need.

  2. Week 1

A small intramuscular or subcutaneous injection, weekly to start. It takes under a minute; most people do it at home without trouble.

  3. Weeks 2–4

If your B12 was low, energy, focus and tingling usually start improving here as stores refill.

  4. Months 2–3

Your physician checks in, rechecks a level if needed, and stretches the interval or adjusts the blend to match your plan.

  5. Beyond

Injections support the plan; food, movement and sleep do the work. Your physician helps you decide how long to continue.

Safety first:
what to know before you start.

Important safety information and common side effects

Vitamin B12 and lipotropic injections are generally well tolerated. The most common effects are mild: soreness, redness or a small bruise at the injection site, and occasionally mild nausea, headache or a fishy body odor from choline in larger doses. B12 is water-soluble and excess is excreted. Rarely, injectable B12 can cause an allergic reaction, and it can lower potassium in the first days of correcting a severe deficiency. Not for people with cobalt allergy or Leber's disease (B12) or with a known allergy to any component. Lipotropic blends are not a substitute for a weight-loss plan and are not prescribed during pregnancy or breastfeeding without a specific reason. Stop and seek care for hives, swelling of the face or lips or trouble breathing. Tell your physician about every medication you take, especially metformin, acid reducers and blood thinners.

The research behind
lipotropic injections.

Lipotropic (MIC) injections combine methionine, inositol, choline and B12. We found no randomized trial of the blend for weight loss. The only sources we use here are neutral: fact sheets and reviews of the individual nutrients.

What the studies found

  • No randomized trial has shown fat loss or weight loss from the blend; this is the honest state of the evidence
  • Choline and vitamin B12 are essential nutrients whose established use is correcting deficiency (NIH Office of Dietary Supplements)
  • Methionine is an essential amino acid; that is pharmacology, not a weight-loss result

The products sold as lipotropic injections are compounded blends. The trials of single nutrients do not test the blend, and no trial tests the compounded product for weight loss.

What this does not say

  • No randomized trial shows fat loss from the blend.
  • Single nutrients have established uses in deficiency; that does not extend to fat loss.
  • Injection-related risks such as infection are separate from any benefit.

The research
behind it.

Choline is required to export fat from the liver, and low intake is linked to fatty liver; B12 injections restore energy and blood-cell health when levels are low.

There are no large trials showing lipotropic injections cause weight loss by themselves. Zepym Health prescribes Lipo-B as support inside a plan, and your physician tells you that plainly.

Frequently asked questions

Contact support
How do I use Lipo-B?

Injected into the muscle, twice a week. The starting prescription is 1 mL (50 mg) each time. Your physician sets your own dose and it is printed on your label.

How much arrives in each shipment?

1 vial at the starting strength, shipped to your door from a licensed US pharmacy.

Will Lipo-B make me lose weight?

Not on its own. It supports liver fat metabolism and energy, and corrects low B12, while a diet, movement or GLP-1 plan does the actual work. Members who use it report steadier energy during weight loss; the scale change comes from the plan.

How do I inject it?

Usually into the muscle of the upper arm or thigh, or under the skin of the abdomen, once a week to start; your physician shows you and sets the schedule. The kit includes everything.

What are the side effects?

Mostly mild: soreness or a small bruise where you inject, occasional nausea or headache, and with larger choline doses a fishy odor. Serious reactions are rare. Read the safety information above and tell your physician about every medication.

Do I need a blood test?

For B12, often yes: a level tells your physician whether you are deficient and how often you need injections. For lipotropic blends alongside a weight-loss plan, your physician decides from your history. Tests can be arranged locally.
