(ep-ih-THAL-on; also written Epitalon)
Epithalon is a four-amino-acid peptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) modeled on epithalamin, a substance produced by the pineal gland. In laboratory studies it switches on telomerase, the enzyme that rebuilds the protective caps (telomeres) on chromosomes, and it supports the pineal gland's production of melatonin, which is why people often notice sleep first. It is typically used in short courses a few times a year.
4 aa
the pineal tetrapeptide that has been shown to lengthen telomeres in human cell lines
Human data come mostly from older Russian studies; recent work is in cell lines. Prescribed off-label at your physician's discretion.

Day 1
A US-licensed physician reviews your goals and history and sets your dose and course. The kit includes everything you need.
Week 1–2
A small subcutaneous injection, daily or on the course your physician sets. Sleep and skin hydration are often the first things people notice.

Month 1–2
Collagen signaling takes weeks to show: skin texture and firmness, and recovery after training, tend to change next.

Month 3–6
Changes consolidate with consistent use. Your physician checks in, adjusts the dose and decides on the next course.

Beyond
Longevity is a long game: sleep, movement, nutrition and sun protection do most of the work. Peptides support them.
Skin quality
firmness, hydration and texture, over weeks
Deeper sleep
reported most with Epithalon and CJC-1295
Recovery
less soreness and faster repair after hard days
Healthy aging
a protocol you build with your physician over time
Individual results vary. Benefits reflect what Zepym Health members commonly report to their physician at check-ins; they are not the results of a clinical trial.
Important safety information and common side effects
Skin and longevity peptides are generally well tolerated. Common, mild effects include redness, itching or a small bump at the injection site, headache, flushing, fatigue or vivid dreams in the first days, and, with CJC-1295, water retention or tingling in the hands. GHK-Cu contains copper: tell your physician about Wilson's disease or copper sensitivity. Because these peptides support cell growth and, in Epithalon's case, telomerase, they are not prescribed with an active cancer, a cancer under evaluation, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop and seek care for hives, swelling of the face or lips or trouble breathing. Tell your physician about every medication you take.
A synthetic tetrapeptide from the Khavinson group in St. Petersburg. The evidence is mostly animal and cell work from one main group, with little independent replication.
We found no controlled human trial of epitalon with a clear outcome. Most human reports come from the developers' group, and a 2025 review of epitalon describes mainly animal and cell work.
Overview of Epitalon, Int J Mol Sci 2025In old rhesus monkeys, epitalon changed melatonin and cortisol levels in a study the 2025 review describes. This is animal work and does not show a benefit in people.
Overview of Epitalon, Int J Mol Sci 2025A 2025 study reports that epitalon lengthened telomeres in human cell lines, through telomerase or ALT activity. Cell results do not show what happens in a person.
Epitalon increases telomere length in human cell lines, Biogerontology 2025What the studies found
The sources here are secondary reviews and developer-led work. The primary papers should be checked before relying on any figure. Epithalon is not FDA-approved for any use.
What this does not say
In 2025 work on human cell lines, Epithalon increased telomere length through telomerase upregulation or alternative lengthening; a 2025 overview summarizes its antioxidant, pineal and circadian effects.
Controlled modern human trials are lacking, and telomere length in a dish is not the same as longer life. Your physician frames Epithalon as a longevity-protocol adjunct, not a proven life extender.

Injected under the skin, 5 days a week, at bedtime. The starting prescription is 20 units (0.4 mg) each time. Your physician sets your own dose and it is printed on your label.
1 vial at the starting strength, shipped to your door from a licensed US pharmacy.
Usually as a course: daily subcutaneous injections for 10 to 20 days, repeated two or three times a year, rather than continuously. Your physician sets the course length and spacing. Many people report deeper sleep within the first course.
A small subcutaneous injection with an insulin-style needle, usually in the abdomen. GHK-Cu and CJC-1295 are typically daily (CJC-1295 at night); Epithalon runs in short courses. Your physician sets the schedule; the kit includes everything.
Sleep changes can show within days; skin and tissue changes take weeks because collagen turns over slowly. Most people judge a protocol at three months with their physician. Individual results vary.
Honest answer: mixed. Topical GHK-Cu has human skin studies; CJC-1295 has controlled human pharmacology data; Epithalon rests on cell-line and older clinical work. None has large modern trials for longevity outcomes. These peptides are prescribed off-label at your physician's discretion.
