What is fish oil?

(EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids)

Fish oil contains EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), omega-3 fatty acids your body cannot make. Your brain, heart, and joints use EPA and DHA to build cell membranes, reduce inflammation, and support signaling. Most modern diets are deficient in omega-3 relative to omega-6, contributing to systemic inflammation. Fish oil supplementation restores balance.

A typical dose is 1,000-2,000 mg combined EPA+DHA daily. Quality matters: molecularly distilled fish oil has lower contaminant levels than crude oil.

How vitamins work

  1. Day 1

Your physician reviews your diet, lifestyle, lab values (including vitamin D level), and goals. Discusses which vitamins fill gaps and how to time them with meals.

    1
  2. Week 1

Start your daily vitamins with breakfast or as directed. Take fat-soluble vitamins (D, K, CoQ10, fish oil) with food to improve absorption.

    2
  3. Weeks 2-4

Most people tolerate vitamins well. Some notice subtle energy shifts or better joint comfort. Keep a symptom log.

    3
  4. Month 2-3

Your physician may check follow-up labs (vitamin D level, if supplementing D) to confirm optimal dosing.

    4
  5. Beyond

Vitamins work best on a consistent daily schedule. Annual labs and check-ins ensure your regimen matches your current needs.

Important safety information and common side effects

Vitamins D, K, CoQ10, and fish oil are generally well tolerated at recommended doses. D3 at very high doses (over 10,000 IU daily long-term) can raise serum calcium; your physician sets your dose. K2 is safe; no upper limit is established. Q10 is safe; high doses may cause mild GI upset or insomnia. Fish oil can thin blood slightly at high doses; tell your physician if you take anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs. Fish oil may cause burping or GI upset in some people. Stop and seek care for signs of hypercalcemia (nausea, vomiting, confusion) or unusual bleeding.

Frequently asked questions

How do I take Fish Oil Capsules?

Taken by mouth, once a day. The starting prescription is 1 capsule (1,000 mg) each time. Your physician sets your own dose and it is printed on your label.

How much arrives in each shipment?

30 capsules at the starting strength, shipped to your door from a licensed US pharmacy.

Will fish oil make me burp fish?

Quality, molecularly distilled fish oil has minimal fishy aftertaste. Taking it with food, storing it in the freezer, and choosing enteric-coated capsules (which dissolve in the intestine, not the stomach) all reduce aftertaste. Discuss options with your physician.

Can I take all these vitamins together?

Yes. D, K, CoQ10, and fish oil are safe to take together. Take them all with food to improve absorption. Separate any other medications by 2-4 hours from fish oil if you are on blood thinners.

How do I know if I am deficient?

Vitamin D deficiency is easy to test; your physician can check your serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D level. K, Q10, and omega-3 deficiencies are harder to test precisely, but dietary assessment and symptoms guide supplementation.

Are vitamins from food better than supplements?

Ideally, you get vitamins from food. But modern diets often fall short. Supplements fill gaps. A varied diet plus targeted supplements usually works best.

How long until I notice a change?

Energy shifts may appear in weeks; bone and joint benefits take months to become obvious. Be patient and consistent; improvements build gradually.
