(ah-TREV-is)
Atrevis is a commercial pharmaceutical-grade testosterone hydrogel formulation. Hydrogels are water-based and absorb into skin faster and cleaner than oil-based creams, without leaving a greasy residue. Applied once daily, typical dose 50–100 mg, Atrevis delivers steady testosterone levels. It is less commonly used than cream but preferred by some men for comfort and cosmetic reasons.
Hydrogel base
water-based, faster absorption, clean feel
Atrevis is a commercial brand, offering consistent pharmaceutical-grade testosterone. It provides the same steady delivery as cream but with a cleaner, less oily feel. Transfer risk is lower due to hydrogel base.
Men who want a daily testosterone gel that dries fast and does not feel greasy.
A hydrogel base instead of a cream, in a dial-a-dose applicator.
Let it dry before dressing, and keep treated skin away from children and partners.

Day 1
US-licensed physician reviews testosterone goals, medical history, and baseline labs (testosterone, hematocrit, PSA, liver function, BP).
1Week 1
Start topical testosterone (cream, hydrogel, or low-dose for women). Apply once daily to clean, dry skin. No injections or pills.
2Week 4
Blood work checks testosterone level. If below target, dose is increased. If target is reached, dose is maintained.
3Month 2–3
Follow-up labs (testosterone, hematocrit, PSA, BP). Symptoms (energy, libido, mood, erectile function) reviewed.
4Beyond
Testosterone monitored every 3–6 months; hematocrit and PSA yearly. Blood pressure checked every visit. Dose adjusted to keep testosterone in target range.

Once a day
Hydrogel-based testosterone delivers steady transdermal absorption like cream but with a hydrophilic (water-loving) base that evaporates or absorbs cleanly without leaving an oily layer.
Atrevis is an alternative to traditional testosterone cream for men who prefer a lighter feel or live in warm climates where cream feels uncomfortable.
Learn moreTopical testosterone (creams, hydrogels) carries the same safety considerations as all testosterone therapy: elevated hematocrit, blood pressure rise, PSA elevation, and reduced fertility during active therapy. Transfer to others (especially women and children) is possible before the application site dries. Wash hands thoroughly after application and cover the area. For women on low-dose testosterone, virilization is rare at doses <2 mg daily but must be monitored. Tell your physician about high blood pressure, blood clotting, PSA concerns, or plans to father children. Stop and seek care for chest pain, shortness of breath, leg swelling, or signs of stroke.

Atrevis is a hydrogel (water-based); regular creams are oil-based. Hydrogels absorb faster, feel less greasy, and are less likely to transfer to others. Both deliver steady testosterone, but Atrevis is preferred by men who find oil-based cream uncomfortable or too heavy.
Transfer is possible if skin-to-skin contact occurs before the application site dries (within 2 hours). Wash your hands thoroughly after application, cover the area with clothing, and avoid skin contact. After 2 hours, the risk is minimal.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not apply extra testosterone to make up for a missed dose. Inconsistent dosing can cause fluctuations in testosterone levels.
Most medications do not interact with topical testosterone, but tell your physician about blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and any other drugs. Some interactions are possible but can be managed.
